I wasn't that thrilled with Kim Gordon's Mirror/Dash line at first. Then I saw this dress. I hate that Urban Outfitters decided to pair it with this belt but the dress itself is wonderful. The print and the draping are perfect, very Diane Von Furstenberg if she were designing a collection for H & M. I would probably wear it with my big black Coach wedges and in my dreams these Fendi sandals.

Welcome to the Future

We had five inches of snow last week.
Last night I went out in an American Apparel skirt, a Ralph Lauren blouse, and 90s Prada shoes. Note the absence of tights. I can not decide if I like this or if I am absolutely terrified. Of course, at the party that I went to half of the girls were wearing shiny American Apparel leggings and Uggs but that's totally unimportant.
What is important is that this nice weather reminds me that June is coming soon, and with June comes graduation. Yes, I have my dress already. I'll be sitting out in the scorching heat on a big black stage with giant sunglasses, a big black sunhat, black heels, and my long long pearls. Oooh the excitement. See by Chloe dress, $340

Death Becomes Me

I have the flu. I have not gotten out of the sweat pants plus t-shirt combo for two days. Also my hair is a mess. I feel terrible and I just read that Chanel is making a Segway scooter. There is a shop downtown that rents Segways. I wonder if they will have the Chanel version? All I know is that this is making me question my existence. Did you know that they are remaking The Never Ending Story? First Escape to Witch Mountain and now this. The world is entering a terrible and unfortunate age. Or maybe not. All I know is that these things are happening and someone else got the Stella McCartney for LeSport Sac bag that I wanted from Gilt Group.
Pretty black dresses to wear to the funeral of the world as we know it:
When you are attending the funeral for an idea, not something tangible, it is thoroughly appropriate to look sexy. You should not wear a one shouldered dress to your step father's funeral but who the hell cares when it is something that did not really exist. Unless you just read Slaughterhouse 5 and you are not sad about his death because, you know, he is alive in the past and right now? That body is just not really in a good state. Did you know that it was Mardi Gras this week? That somehow or other slipped by me. Probably becuase that was the day that I fell ill. I looked good too (90s Prada shoes, wool tights, striped shirt dress, vintage waist belt, and a purple J. Crew cardigan). Once again, the perfect party dress for the end of the world as we know it. Helmut Lang dresses have a habit of bringing out the vaugely slutty and curvaceous side of me. I know I would end up wearing this dress with my suede platform heels and my faux leather jacket and be righteously mean to everyone. It is no matter though, because I love this dress. $345

I can't help but feeling like Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta when she dresses as a child prostitute though. Or like some demented Alice in Wonderland. Whoever decided to style this dress with black tights should be fired. I used to hate one shoulder anything but I got this vintage Oscar de la Renta dress that's basically the 90's answer to the toga and now they're starting to be all the more appealing. Every time that I get a paycheck I update my Net-a-Porter wish list because...why not? Here are some favorites that I think everyone should have. Or you know, drool over.

The economy sucks, so here are some recession minded pieces for all of us that want to look good during the holidays (okay and so I'm kind of benefiting from the economy because I'm working extra hours for all the promotional stuff my bosses are doing, but 5 more hours at minimum wage all while saving for college does not a billionaire make).

A Favorite

So you guys probably know already that I loved Victoria Beckham's dress collection, but in case you were still on the fence about the collection you should watch this video. Because really, that's what I would do if I were wearing one of those lovely little dresses.

Something about cold weather brings out the Cher in me and I start to adore fringe and ruffles.

Let's ignore the fact that last night's episode of Gossip Girl made me want to punch Serena in the face and spout random bits of advice from The Prince, at least for just a little bit.
Normally D&G is a little whatever, but I love this dress and think Blair would as well. Even the back is fantastic, with a little ruffle around the zipper.
Oh, and can Serena stop channeling Avril Lavigne with her school uniform?
C'mon Blair, throw a party, wear this dress, and have Nelly kill Poppy and leave her body in the town square so everyone knows who's boss. You know you want to.
