'Cause I'm Like That

If you know me, you know that I own probably one pair of socks because I generally just wear flats or heels.
Okay, so I own multiple pairs of Betsey Johnson knee-highs but those hardly ever see more than the inside of my boots.
Anyways, I am seriously digging Nylon for Nike's sneakers and I might just have to buy a pair and wear them with my hot pink knee-highs. Not that I've worn a pair of sneakers in ages. Actually, I believe that I exercised in a pair of $3 Keds a few weeks ago. And by exercise I mean I took out the recycling.

I'm Cool, We're Cool, You're Not Cool

I wasn't that thrilled with Kim Gordon's Mirror/Dash line at first. Then I saw this dress. I hate that Urban Outfitters decided to pair it with this belt but the dress itself is wonderful. The print and the draping are perfect, very Diane Von Furstenberg if she were designing a collection for H & M. I would probably wear it with my big black Coach wedges and in my dreams these Fendi sandals.
I'm just waiting for Whitney to wear it on The City with some wonderfully high heels. $88

Kinda Like Erin Wasson, But With More Showers

Yesterday I cleared out about 1/3 of my wardrobe. I said goodbye to countless t-shirts and a few Heatherette items whose sequins have fallen off. Also a few dresses that never, ever saw the light of day (for good reason). As a reward, I think I that I should get some shoes.
I just might get these for prom, floor length black deserves color and shine. Also, the t-straps will go with the fingerwaves I've been contemplating. Or maybe I'll do a Holly Golightly French twist. Christian Louboutin T-Bar sandals, $865
So she might not be anywhere if her dad wasn't a Beatle but I love Stella McCartney. Her shoes have been hit or miss with me lately, but these are most certainly a hit. Spectator pumps, $645
These are even more perfect for prom. Glitter shoes are hard to pull off. So many times they look cheap and disgusting, granted I haven't seen these in person but the various types of sequins and glitter on these pumps take them to the next level. LOVE! Jean-Michel Cazabat open toe pumps, $650
These are just up here because I saw so many Tory Burch flip-flops today I thought that I was going to go blind. Loeffler Randal sandals, $450

My Hair Will Shine Like the Sea

I'm sitting here still in my bathrobe and watching Millionaire Matchmaker (which, by the way, is far more terrifying than any other show on television)and I'm feeling mighty comfortable so here are some flats. A far cry from the high high heels I've been wearing lately and maybe some models could use them too...
I will always love a nice pointed toe, especially when paired with straight jeans. Aaah Marni. Leather ballet flats, $530

Pink satin! The girliest of girly, and I love it. Fairy Tales Are True satin flats, $34
Perfect for when it's warm but God knows you shouldn't wear shorts and all your skirts are in the laundry. Also just totally fab. Chloe patent leather flats, $470

Classic and on sale. Iyana flats, $85

This is the Year We Have All Been Waiting For

Fashion Icon: The Inauguration

Who would not be inspired by Michelle's dress or Aretha's hat?
It may be freezing out but add some merino wool tights and a nice jacket and this dress is inaugural perfection. Ports 1961 mock turtleneck dress, $695
You know, for the red states. Or not. It's warm and fabulous, what more could you want in a coat? Vintage Drape Coat, $188
Aretha's bow was bigger, and sparklier, but I think that would be a little much with this dress. Bow Beret, $38
Sensible slingbacks, but still a little glittery. Fun! $39.99

Fashion is Fun

I hope that you guys like the new banner, the other one was boring me and God knows that I hate being bored.
I got an e-mail from Net-A-Porter about these shoes and the crayola lover inside of me went a little nuts. The red and purple versions are my favorites. Suede heels are such a necessity. Miu Miu red sued pumps, $495

Speaking of Pretty Blondes, Have You Seen Blake Lively's Vogue Photo Shoot?

The real real Barbie shoe; and this one doubles as a glass slipper for when you are having a Cinderella moment as well as a Barbie one (don't they coincide quite a lot?). Åsa Jungnelius via u.o.

Porn

A friend of mine sent me a link to Supremefreak (The place for high fashion porn) and it reminded me of all the porny things that we love in life. Like spending an entire free block drooling in front of the computer screen as you zoom in on the Christian Louboutins on Net-A-Porter. Shoe porn, my friends. Or the pin up girl calendar that came with my Frnech Vogue. Seriously, what do I do with it? I would put it up in my room because the pictures are pretty, but seriously, I dont' know if I want to be the girl with a model dressed up as a sex scout on her wall. My mother suggested giving it to my brother, but I could never let those lovely little pictures go to THAT use. Then there's Bettie Page, who started out as a regular naughty girl and turned into a fashion icon. And what about Venus de Milo and American Apparel ads?
Oh sex and sexy things and beautiful women, will we ever get enough?

I Will Kill Our Cleaning Ladies for Hiding my Allergy Meds

Every time that I get a paycheck I update my Net-a-Porter wish list because...why not? Here are some favorites that I think everyone should have. Or you know, drool over.
If there was a Party Girl remake Mary would wear this during her days at the library. With Christian Louboutin Rodita platforms, of course. And there would be sly jokes about The City that only freaks like me would get (did you watch The City? It was unrealistic and insane but it made me miss New York like no other, thank God I'm going back in the fall). Fendi silk crepe de Chine dress, $2,020
Mint green and short sounds kind of...insane. But I've always been attracted to the nutcases of this world. If I were on top of my game I'd quote Jack Kerouac right here but I've spent the better part of my day watching reality television and I like the moronic streak that I'm going on today. Besides, tomorrow I'll be legally an adult and I'd rather hold onto my childlike stupidity for as long as I can. Green is an appropriate color to wear when suffering from Peter Pan Syndrome. 3.1 Phillip Lim mini dress, $295
These are adorable and I love them but, I believe in hard living (okay I just always wind up taking photographs of graffiti in various dirty alleys) and they would wind up black after 2 days of being worn. Satin and I love each other very much, but it will never work out. Maloles satin flats, $290

Short, pleated, ruffles, it's fun! It's Marc by Marc Jacobs, what more could I ask for? Marc georgette dress, $360

Speak to me Darling in Hushed Tones

Christian Louboutin is making pink Barbie shoes. I might be swooning just a little bit. Not that I wear pink much, and I've always been slightly opposed to the blonde/tanned image that Barbie has been sporting for ages. But, aren't you the least bit excited for the Barbie fashion show and to see the shoes that he comes up with? Christian Louboutin did say, afterall, "Barbie needs to wear great shoes because every girl needs to wear great shoes."
Christian Louboutin Very Prive pumps, $860

A Feast of Sorts

Things no one should wear, but I still see everywhere:
Tory Burch flats. Yesterday two girls where wearing them at school. They are best friends. It was a little sick.

Harem pants, I kind of see the appeal but no one needs a dropped crotch and awkward proportions. No one.

Atleast the Shoes Will Still Fit After You Gain all of That Holiday Weight

Mmmm Net-A-Porter is having a wonderful little sale, one of the few good things to come out of this shit economy. 50% off anyone? How about we take a look at the stuff I still can't afford. Damn college tuition.
K by Karl Lagerfeld scarf, $94.50 (originally $135)

Belle by Sigerson Morrison flats, $147.50 (originally $295)
Pedro Garcia Alanis jazz shoes, $212.50 (originally $425)Charlotte Olympia Gilda sandals, $535.50 (originally $765)
By Marlene Birger Orsina mini skirt (mustard yellow is becoming one of my favorite colors), $157.50 (originally $225)

and don't even get me started on the underwear. This is turning out to be quite a lovely Thanksgiving break.

And it'll be Wonderful

Something about cold weather brings out the Cher in me and I start to adore fringe and ruffles.
Over the summer I stopped into the 3.1 Phillip Lim store in Soho and nearly died. And even though I may have the sense of humor of an idiotic frat boy I have a weakness for the girliest of dresses. Besides, this orange punches it up a bit. $695
Does this dress not scream New Year's Eve party? Okay, it actually screams birthday party but, as you may well know, my birthday is December 31. Whatever, white is awesome and people need to wear it more. $695
Pink and ruffly, kind of a disturbing mix of Blair Waldorf and whatever Jennifer Love Hewitt's character's name is on The Ghost Whisperer. Let's pretend that I've never watched that show. Or not, she has some cute clothes on it and that's the main appeal. But I promise I haven't watched it in about 2 years, is it even on any more? $98

These are perfection, so let's not even bother with whatever sad-o comments I have. $135

Put You on the Screen

These Givenchy shoes make me want to be Wonder Woman. Oooh I would wear them with skinny black pants, a white oxford, and my leather jacket and then BAM when trouble broke out I would tear off my clothes revealing a fantastic super hero outfit and save the day. Plus I would look fantastic, and that's what really matters.

"Lipstick is Red, Right?"

My latest shopping list, because you all care so much.

Sephora's nail polish is affordable, in great colors, and actually lasts. I was wearing that turquoise for a while but it's always sold out now. I think the lilac is my new choice. $2

American Apparel's models can hardly get any sluttier. But you know, I dig these thigh highs, and who can go wrong with something featured in Penthouse? $15

I'll never stop wearing pointy toed flats. Unfortunately I've grown disillusioned with the pairs that I have now. I do believe that I need these. $38

Coming Back

I've been dreaming of this one outfit for ages now. Unfortunately all of my friends are rather practical and talked me out of spending all of my money on it, but a girl can dream of looking like a rich careful slightly slutty girl, can she not?

This Alice + Olivia dress was made for me. At least that's what I tell myself. $247.50

I know that these shoes don't seem the natural choice for this dress but God do I love the combination of sickeningly sweet and all around bad ass. Besides, if the shoes are Christian Louboutin, does it really matter? Rodita platforms, $835
